About The Guest:

Tom Satterly is a highly decorated retired Special Operations Command Sgt. Major, who along with his teammates, was portrayed in the Oscar Winning film: Black Hawk Down. 

Tom served in the Army 25 years, 20 in the US Military’s most secretive and elite Tier One unit, Delta Force. As a member of Delta Force, Tom has been deployed countless times around the world and has led hundreds of our countries most critical military campaigns including Operation Red Dawn that led to the capture of Saddam Hussein in 2003. Along with hostage rescue missions and high target captures, Tom was also in charge of protection for President Bush during his Thanksgiving trip to Iraq in 2003.

Command Sgt. Major Satterly lead over 10,000 soldiers in Iraq and has a proven track record of high level leadership and critical decision making in high-risk environments. 

Tom has also fought and is winning his own “silent war” off the battlefield. Post-Traumatic Stress nearly consumed him to the point that Tom nearly took his own life in 2013, barely escaping becoming another veteran suicide statistic. 

His innate strengths of courage, perseverance, and “can do” attitude has saved his life countless times. Knowing we all have our personal battles we fight, Tom chooses to share his story with us to help overcome our personal obstacles. 

Over the span of his service, Tom is the recipient of 64 medals and ribbons.  OF THOSE, 5 were Bronze Star Medals with 2 for Valorous acts. 

Tom is accompanied by his wife and All Secure Foundation Co-founder, Jen Satterly…. Jen was a filmmaker and photographer for 15 years, spending the last three years of her career as co-founder and Director of Film and Photography for an elite Special Operations training company. Jen fully embedded with Navy Seals and Green Berets in realistic training missions around the country for three years.

After Jen and Tom married, she began searching for answers to help them both find a way to constructively heal from the invisible wounds of war and began to help hundreds of Special Operations families with information and resources on how to heal from Post-Traumatic Stress.

Today, Tom and Jen are Co-CEOs of All Secure Foundation running retreat workshops for Special Operations Combat Couples to help them reconnect and heal on the homefront. Additionally, they speak to military and veteran groups around the country on PTS Resiliency. 

Tom Satterly is the best selling author of All Secure: A Special Operations Warriors Fight to Survive on the Battlefield and the Homefront (Hachette, November 2019) and Jen is currently writing her book, Virago, addressing the issues spouses and families face and how to heal from complex secondary PTS.
